County teams finalised ahead of international tourney

THE County Tyrone teams to compete in this year’s SuperCupNI tournament have been finalised.

Premier boss David Harvey and Martin Gallagher, who is in charge of the Junior team, have selected squads of 18 players with a number of others named on standby lists.

The countdown is well and truly on to this year’s tournament which takes place between Monday, July 29 and Friday, August 2.

On Tuesday night the Tyrone SuperCupNI Association staged an information evening for the parents of the participating players at Youth Sport Omagh and just last week the county organising committee announced that the Fir Trees Hotel, Strabane was coming on board as a kit sponsor for the next three years.

Mr John Kelly, the proprietor of the Fir Trees, is no stranger to the famed international youth tournament, having previously sponsored the county when the competition was known as the NI Milk Cup.

The Tyrone committee has meanwhile put on record its thanks to Schimmel Distribution, which has ended it’s sponsorship after giving the county set-up financial backing for four years.
