Three local clubs appoint new managers

A NUMBER of local football clubs have appointed new managers in recent days with Darren Teague taking over the reins at Strathroy Harps.

Teague, who has won every honour  in the junior game as a Harps player, has been named as player-manager and succeeds Benny McElholm.

The former Ballinamallard United player will be assisted by Shane Horisk and Dermot McKeogh and has already made a number of new signings including Niall McCaffrey from Dunbreen Rovers.

Fellow Fermanagh and Western League club Killen Rangers has announced Gary Sproule as their supremo for the next season.

It’s Sproule’s second stint as manager of the North Tyrone villagers and he takes over from Stuart Lindsay and assistant Mark Gillen who were in post for one season.

Killen’s neighbours Ardstraw have also appointed from within by naming Nigel Boyd as the next boss of the Vaughan’s Holm club.

Boyd, a UEFA B licence coach, will be assisted by William Scott and Stephen Campbell.
