Dancers ‘hip hop’ their way to world finals

THE talented members of Dance Revelation in Omagh have hip-hopped their way to the world finals of a prestigious competition.

All 30 of the hip hop dancers have successfully qualified for the grand finals of the ‘United Dance Organisation’ competition after achieving success in their respective categories during qualifiers which took place in Lisburn Lagan Valley Leisure Centre recently.

The finals, for the local dancers aged from eight to 30, will take place from August 22 to August 26 in the twinkling city of Blackpool and it will see competitors from as far away as Japan taking part.

“I am really proud,” Joanne McCausland, dance teacher from Omagh, said.

“This year, the standard was incredibly high in the qualifiers, but all of our dancers did fantastically.

“Getting to the Worlds in Blackpool is great achievement, and a good wee holiday for us all: We have a lot of happy kids!”

Dance Revelation is based in the Industrial Estate’s Body Rock studios, and different classes run on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

If your child would like to attend and gain fantastic hip hop dancing experience, contact Joanne via the Dance Revelation Facebook page.

To help Dance Revelation fundraise for their excursion to Blackpool, the dancers will be bag-packing in Asda Omagh on July 6. A GoFundMe link will soon be set up in aid of the dance school, so watch this space, and follow Dance Revelation’s Facebook page for updates.
