Carrickmore’s attack runs riot in big win

AN IMPRESSIVE performance from Carrickmore’s full-forward line saw them cruise to a comprehensive victory over Derrylaughan in this evening’s Tyrone Senior Championship first round tie..

Played at Pomeroy, the St Colmcille’s were never troubled in a 2-22 to 1-11 double scores win over the Kevin Barry’s.

Carrickmore led by 0-12 to 0-4 at the half-time break before really turning on the style in registering 2-10 on the resumption.

With Brendan McLaughlin leading the way for them at midfield, goals from Martin Penrose and Rory Grimes set the seal on a fine performance.

In particular, that the display produced by their full-forward line was of particular note as Barry Daly, Martin Penrose and Ciaran Daly hit the grand total of 1-15.

It means that Carrickmore, who lead the O’Neill Cup Roll of Honour, will enter the quarter finals with a strong degree of confidence.
