Newly-wed flees while burglars break into home

A NEW bride from Castlederg has described the terrifying moment she awoke to discover burglars breaking into her home.

Dearbhla Lynch (née Byrne) was relaxing in bed yesterday morning (Wednesday) just before 11am when she heard a loud noise reverberate through her home on the Cavan Road.

The incident is the latest in a spate of burglaries and thefts which have struck the Castlederg area recently.

It occurred just days after the new Mrs Lynch married her sweetheart, Adam at St Patrick’s Church, Aghyaran last Saturday.

Yesterday, less than 20 minutes after Adam had left the house, the intruders struck.

“I was lying in the room and I heard this really loud noise,” Mrs Lynch explained.

“Right away I knew there was someone breaking in.
