Mattie Donnelly ruled out for six months

TYRONE skipper Mattie Donnelly is set for a prolonged spell on the sidelines after getting injured in Trillick’s recent Ulster Club Championship quarter-final defeat to Derrygonnelly.

Donnelly has confirmed that one of the tendons from his hamstring became detached in the incident, and he will likely miss the entirety of Tyrone’s National League campaign as a result.

Donnelly is set to undergo surgery and all being well should return in time for the championship.
