Drumquin man runs the line in Ireland v Qatar game

A LOCAL official has enhanced his growing reputation by running the line at the international soccer game between the Republic of Ireland and Qatar at the Aviva Stadium last night.

Drumquin man Andrew Nethery was part of a team of officials from the Northern Ireland Referees’ Association which included referee Keith Kennedy, fellow assistant Gareth Aiken and fourth official Ian McNabb.

Nethery’s appointment will be viewed as many within the game as another staging post en route to the top of his profession. Since completing his beginners course some eight and half years ago the Drumquin man has made remarkable progress.
